*The embroidery “cannetille” represents the stylized Russian imperial eagle, hand made using very fine metal thread, according to the ancestral technique of the XVI c. Very popular in Europe and Russia in XVIII-XIX c., “cannetille” was used to decorate clothing and accessories. Disappearing with time, it is only used today as ornamentation in military costumes…
